For Die Kleine Seejungfrau, Wülfing turned her unique style towards a

visual interpretation of the classic tale from Hans Christian Andersen,

"The Little Mermaid".

 

Her suite of illustrations for this low volume publication included 8

colour images and a further 8 monotone illustrations that captured

seminal moments within the tale in a simply gorgeous manner.

When presented on Greeting Cards, these images are prepared as tipped-on

plates - in hommage to the hand-crafted approach typical of prestige illustrated

publications produced in the early decades of the 20th Century. Each card is

hand-finished and and the images are presented on Ivory card stock (in the case

of colour illustrations) or White card stock (in the case of monotone illustrations)

with an accompanying envelope. The rear of each card carries information

about Sulamith Wülfing, this wonderful suite and the profiled illustration - we

have left the interior of the cards blank so that you may write your own

personal message.
