Songs for Youth (1924)

On the left, we show a rare copy of the 1924 Edition of Songs for Youth, as illustrated by Leo Bates and produced by Hodder and Stoughton Limited (London).   This example retains the original decoratively gold-stamped cover - one of the numerous variant bindings used for the 1st Edition.

The 1924 illustrated Edition of Songs for Youth is a selection of poems from Rudyard Kipling.

For this title, Bates prepared a suite of 8 colour illustrations - depicting themes explored in Kipling's verse in a manner

that is most complementary to the text.

Our Greeting Cards and Reproduction Images

When presented on Greeting Cards, these images are prepared as tipped-on plates - in homage to the hand-crafted

approach typical of prestige illustrated publications produced in the early decades of the 20th Century.

Hand-finishing is used to replicate the visual appearance of a tipped-on plate and the images are presented on Ivory card

stock with an accompanying envelope. We have left the cards blank so that you may write your own personal message.
