John Byam Shaw (1872-1919) is an English artist associated with the Golden Age of
Illustration.
The John Byam Shaw Collection at Spirit of the Ages
includes art images from some of Shaw's seminal work. As a valuable reference resource, options are also provided

Shaw studied at the Royal Academy Schools and worked in
a variety of media, including oils, watercolours, pastels, pen and ink. In addition to producing a large
number of paintings, he also contributed to illustrated books through
commissioned
work. In his later career, he established the Byam Shaw
School of Art and influenced the
development of many artists, including Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale.
