and produced by Åhlén & Åkerlunds Förlag (Stockholm).

 

This example retains the original paper cover with applied

Published in 1922 by Åhlén & Åkerlunds Förlag (Stockholm), this edition shows the fourth suite of illustrations for the

annual Bland Tomtar Och Troll that was contributed by Tenggren exclusively.

 

Throughout the 1922 Edition of Bland Tomtar Och Troll, Tenggren illustrates a number of tales by various authors

including: "Prinsessorna och narren" (Jenna Osterdahl); "Klosterklockan" (Anna-Lisa Andersson); "Fågel silvervit"

(Beth Birkenhain); "Det förtrollade huset" (Elisabeth Brehmer); and "Kärlekens under" (Ellen Lundberg-Nyblom).

 

These early illustrations from Tenggren show his developing style soon after his emigration to the United States.

 

 

Our Greeting Cards and Reproduction Images

images for the 1922 Edition of Bland Tomtar Och Troll and on the left, we show an example of how these Greeting Cards appear. When presented on Greeting Cards, these images are prepared as tipped-on plates - in hommage to the hand-crafted

approach typical of prestige illustrated publications produced in the early decades of the 20th Century.

 

Hand-finishing is used to replicate the visual appearance of a tipped-on plate and the images are presented on Ivory card

stock with an accompanying envelope. We have left the cards blank so that you may write your own personal message.
