Undoubtedly, Sime's jingles and the related caricatures
will have been prepared as comments on Edwardian society,
but they also serve as a precursor to the
wonderful work of Dr Seuss, albeit one that is darker and more adult oriented. Consider, for example, the tale of "The
Seekim":

Bogey Beasts is a wonderful example of a work
where an author-illustrator has pursued a creative vision and the
outcome is magnificent.

plates - in hommage to the hand-crafted
approach typical
of prestige illustrated publications produced in the early decades
of the 20th Century.
Hand-finishing is used to replicate the
visual appearance of a tipped-on plate and the images are presented
on
White
card stock with an accompanying envelope. We have left the cards blank so that you may write your own
personal message.
